The German company Könitz was founded in 1909 as a porcelain factory with four circular kilns. The first products - cups, mugs, bowls, tea sieves etc. - were mainly shipped to England. The company already had to expand because of the strong demand and became known as Könitz Porcelain Factory Gebrüder Metzel. During the following decade many new and international markets were attained through a modified company concept. Könitz banks on a strong band assortment in retail, customized and promotional mugs, as well as mugs as souvenir items.
